Tour Description

Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca or Montaña de Siete Colores, is an impressive geological formation located in the magnificent Peruvian Andes. Its stunning beauty comes from a remarkable mix of minerals and sediments found within the rocks, including iron oxide (red), sulfur (yellow), and copper (green). Over countless millennia, weathering forces have gradually unraveled these captivating minerals, revealing vibrant bands of color.

In recent years, the Rainbow Mountain hike has grown in popularity, captivating visitors with its fascinating striped appearance reminiscent of a painted rainbow adorning the mountainside.

Combining the charm of Rainbow Mountain with the charm of Red Valley, this hike offers an extraordinary experience without requiring excessive physical effort. Located within the provinces of Canchis and Quispicanchis, near the city of Cusco, this excursion takes you to the viewpoints of the Mountain of 7 Colors and the Red Valley. Reaching an impressive altitude of 5,020m/16,466ft, it offers a panoramic view showcasing the majestic Apu Ausangate and the vast expanse of the Red Valley. In addition, this enchanting landscape is adorned with abundant flora and fauna, courtesy of the Pacha Mama (Mother Earth).

Embarking on the Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley day trip promises an unforgettable experience. Our team of highly trained and well equipped guides will make sure that your adventure is extraordinary.
